This product is great in navigating, traffic updates super, recalculating nice turn around time, nice wide screen, good volume options.touch screen is not so senstive.one down side
Traffic alert very helpful in busy cities. If you get a lot of tickets for speeding, the speed limit alert can be a money saving feature. Compared to the $699.00 Garmin Street Pilot 2700 I bought three years ago, the Navigon 2100 Max is a steal. Accurate to less than 100 feet. With the reality view and lane assist at intersections and exits, you will never miss your exit.
Those little tabs look pretty fragile. But, operation-wise, it's just great. It's easy to use, connects fairly quickly and has text-to-speech, lane assist and lifetime traffic. There are two negatives: 1) the location of the power-cord plug (on the bottom, making it more difficult to position; and, 2) the way in which the unit snaps in and out of the holder.
Traffic is right on. Three D graphics and lane assist are great. POI"s could be better. Excellent GPS. Have owned a Cobra GBS and a Garmin GPS, this one is much better.
Since we're on this subject, Navigon DOES NOT provide free map upgrade with the initial purchase (unlike TomTom with guarantee map update with the initial purchase). Let me tell you FORGET IT. Yes this will get you to your location using most of the time the long route to get you there.
I really recommend saving your $$ and get a refurbished TomTom unit. You'll be in traffic by the time it reroutes you like I mentioned before the route is always the long route and I don't trust it. Okay what about the free lifetime traffic with the Navigon.
Purchased this because of the $89.99 price/free traffic feature been using this for about a month now and what a disappointment. Overall total price would be $200 for a refurbished Navigon unit. What did I expect for the price paid.
Maybe this refurbish unit came with outdated maps, but the map information shows it has 2008 map. If you want updated maps a two years subscription is another $90 and if you want ZAGAT ratings it's a one time fee of $20.
